To what compression will they push a motor with just a cam (say a 27) upgrade?

As previously mentioned porting is good ,but polishing could be overated depending on who you ask.I seen some top of the line heads, from top porters, & not contained polishing!! Do some more research before you make that choice!!

Default ev27

I'm going to just pop the ev27 in for now. And see what that does. I'm thinking of pushing the port money over to some Apes.

heres something you guys should keep in mind, the actual port size of a evo head is already too big, its actually larger than the early twin cam heads that supported 88 ci, enlarging a port will actually kill velocity, so when you do heads for a low revving (under 6k) 80 incher, all you really need to do is clean up a few areas, im not saying you can go polish this yourself, but the port and polish game is played to create revenue.

plus, pushing the compression to high with an ev27 will ping you crazy! Before you decide on a cam, consult an expert! if you raise your compression too high you can take your self backwards in your quest for horsepower.
