Default Dumb EVO transmission question

Ok, I know somebody is going to say get a manual, but its not my bike and I dont want to buy a manual to figure this issue out. I put new bars and cables on my Dad's 1998 Fatboy. I did lose a little tranny fluid and want to just drain old and refill now. Ive looked and looked on here and cant figure out where the drain plug is for sure. I found a torx screw on the right side just under the tranny cover, is that it? I have seen some info on this topic for the newer bikes and I realize that they have it between the shocks. This hex Im seeing appears to have been removed before and was replaced with generous amounts of pipe dope apparently. Also finding conflicting info on checking the transmission fluid. Upright or on the kickstand? Screw in the dipstick or just insert to threads? Sorry for the dumb, long winded questions

The trans drain is between the two most bottom bolts on the right side under the cover where the clutch cable goes into. Oil should be checked with bike upright with dipstick not screwed in just resting on threads like you were going to start threadind it in.

Book says 20.9-25 oz. so 22 should be close enough.

This is one of those occasions when a manual is a great asset! If I remember correctly there are two candidates under the trans for drain plug. One of them relates to the gears themselves and should NOT be disturbed! Perhaps someone can confirm that (my manual is for a Glide).

I have a 98 Fatboy yep on the bottom. Watch the threads and don't overtighten. Also pretty easy to overfill. Add a little and check then repeat.
