Is your horn grounded? If it doesn't have a ground wire going to it, it must be grounded to the frame. Maybe rust behind it causing a break in the ground. Otherwise, check the voltage on that red wire with the horn button depressed, should be 12 volts or close. (one lead on the red wire, one on a good ground connection. Meter on DC volts). To check the horn switch put your meter on ohms and see if there's continuity across it when depressed.

If you have power going to it & it won't bark, hit it with a hammer a few times. If it's junk, use a car alarm siren. Those things are loud!!!
Hatch.

Not sure on our bike horns but I know on an automobile horn there is a screw that some times has to be adjusted to get a good honk out of it.

In 2003 I had to pull mine off and tapped it hard with a rubber mallet to break the "rusticles" out of it, then adjusted the tone with the built in screw.
Has worked ever since with no further intervention....

YEP,all good answers...and it might be in your horn switch,,,if you ever had your controls off ,there might be a loose wire in there, mine did that once. If it's junk, there should be lots of guys on here or ebay that's switched to some custom application or air horns, oughta be able to buy 1 for around $5 bucks .....good idea to get it workin though!

The ground on my bike is a thin braided cable, like a tiny auto ground cable. If yours is like that it could have corroded through. If you have a ground cable check it is fitted right! The horn is rubber mounted and the ground must go from the horn side, making a good contact with the horn, to the frame.

I just splashed out on a fancy chrome Mini Beast 2 air horn.....
