Default Hello all!

Thought I would introduce myself in here since this is where the EVO folks hang around. I am building a softail right now. I will not be buying the engine until early next year. So far I have the frame (MT OEM Softail), front and rear fenders (Klock Werks extended with frenched in license plate), wheels (80 spoke twisted), tank (2" stretch smooth top), 13" apes with all the controls internally wired, and a bunch of other odds and ends. After I get all the stuff I have now mounted, I will be working on finishing the front and rear brakes. I am planning on using a Southern Motorcycle Works black and chrome 113" motor, a 2" BDL drive and Ultima 6 speed. I will be hanging around and reading a bunch. Seems to be some more in depth tech in here besides how to wire an IPOD adapter. Thanks!

Yep I am. I had a TC FXST and FLST before life made me sell them. I had a Honda 750 too all through college. I am paying for all the parts as I buy them. This way it will be paid for. I also really want to build it myself. I am comfortable doing most mechanic work except tearing into an engine. I am going to buy me a set of motorcycle tire spoons and DYNA beads so I can mount my own tires. That is, soon as I take out the china junk bearings and seals out and replace them with Timkin units. I am also trying to buy USA made stuff as much as I can. Don't know if I can justify a Baker tranny though. $3000 vs $700 is a big jump.

I will post some pics when I can. My frame comes in this week. A buddy of mine is going to sandblast it, primer it and paint it gloss black or Omnicron for me. He is going to blast the tank and primer it for me also.
