Carefully turn the plastic inner ****/nut (it's the little black ring behind the enrichner ****), this will tighten the housing around the cable and if it isn't worn out it will keep the enrichner out. That plastic nut is easy to break so only turn it a little at a time.
I broke a plastic nut last year and my buddy gave me another one, I don't have much confidence in the palstic nut. Can the plastic one be replaced with a metal nut or is there a reason they used plastic?
I am still dealing with it not taking a quick throttle but that really looks like an accelarator pump issue. Getting a really weak shot of fuel. Not the good stream I would expect to see. I am assuming a clog to clean. Could also be in the linkage. If I turn the lever by hand I get a much better delivery.
Out on the road the bike pulls great thru the gears put tops out at 80mph. Not breaking up but does not want to give me anything more. Reading many things but getting mixed signals.
Am I rich or lean?
The 45 and 165 are still in put I plan to work thru some of the suggestions Sat. when I get back at it.
I ended up using a 46 and 180 and she is running great.
I did have to replace the accelerator pump diaphram. Cheap one in the rebuild kit was junk. Chinese I assume.
Anyway thanks to all for your suggestions and insights.
I would try 48/190 and see if that makes it even nicer. I run 48/200 and it pulls hard to the rev limiter and the gas mileage is still the same as when it was 45/175.
