The part of the primary that the stator sits in extends into the crankcase but is sealed off from the actual crank area by the crankcase wall.

I guess people cean parts before putting pics up....

Correct. It sits back in toward the crankcase but is sealed in the primary. The rotor, stator and inside portion of the plug are in the primary fluid.

Thanks for the info. That primary oil level is barely at the bottom of the chain right? No way it should be able to leak out that stator connector on the jiffy stand right?

You may be right. But this one leans more than any I have seen. I am going to pull the cover and check the level anyway. Since it was just changed he might have overfilled it.
