I have the full table lift with foot pump from HF, throw the cheezy wheel chock away and mount the heavy duty one that "traps" the front wheel. I can pull up and have the front wheel snap in , get off and tie it down. I move the table around in the shop with the bike on it and have not felt afraid of it tipping. The drop out panel for rear wheel service is great!!!

Had this problem when I first got the table lift. For about 2 weeks I'd drive the bike up on the lift and push it into the place where I normally stored the bike. Actually takes up less room side to side because the bike stands up straight and you can push it clear to the wall.

The cheap lift from Harbor Freight is the same as the cheap lift from Sears. Usually on sale for about $75. If you have money to burn, buy a $300 lift. I've taken rear wheels off (and on), left my Electraglide on the lift for the winter, used it as a dolly to move bikes around and never had any concerns or issues with stability, etc. The lift has a mechanical stop. Set that and even if the hydraulics leak your bike isn't going to end up in the floor. When I can afford an air powered lift I'm getting one, but only because I would like to work at a height better suited to my back.

I love my Handy, but..........
last I heard Handy was halting production and only filling orders placed before the shut-down.

Get a table lift. It is so much nicer when working on the bike. I picked mine up from an importer in Arlington, TX. It's a hydraulic foot pump type...if I had to do it over, I'd go pneumatic all the way. Usually I just push the bike up clamp it down. I did add some of that "don't slip in the shower" stuff for the ramp and the middle of the table...that and a 2x4 under the ramp's leading edge to mellow out the angle. I've had mine for 7 years and love it.
