Clutch Adjusting Problem

It had the piece to hook the cable to the ramp hook. I am putting it together now.

Was this a separate piece that attached to the ramp with bolts? Look at a factory drawing of that side and make sure you don't have an extra piece in there. I don't like those easy clutch things.

No it didn't bolt in. It hooked on the cable end and then had to turn it certain way to put it in the hook.

That's the stock ramp and coupling.

That's good. The problem I have with the "easy" adapters is that it becomes easier because you get more leverage. However, you still have the same amount of lever travel, and there is no free lunch, so the same amount of lever travel now moves the clutch less distance. There isn't exactly a surplus of distance there to start with. I had a shop put an "easy" kit on Dr.Linda's Sportster, and I think it wiped out the new clutch. I took that thing off and she's back to building up that left forearm muscle set.
