Default Through The Bars Wiring

Gents,
Changed to 1-1/4" X 8" mini-apes on my Heritage. The wiring exiting the middle of the bars down by the clamp is waiting to chafe and short. I've tried pushing in that corrigated split wiring cover but it doesn't work. Problem is the cables come from the right and left side of the bars so the protective covering stops right at the access hole. What do you guys put in there to prevent the bars from cutting into the cables?

Pull the wires outta the connector and slide some shrink wrap over the wires.

there is a split shrink wrap that you put on like electrical tape and then shrink. I think I got some at Mcmaster-Carr, but its been a while and I'm old!

For what it's worth, some of the holes drilled in those bars aren't as smooth as they need to be and can eat through wires and shrinkwrap. I usually do a "toilet paper test", where I roll up a little (you guessed it) toilet paper and run it along the edges of the wire holes. If it shreds the toilet paper, I hit it with 1500 grit paper or a dremel polisher until its smooth enough.
