Hi Ladies and Gents...question for you.
I am looking at a 1992 Dyna Wide and the engine has 200000 clicks on it. Buyer is looking at 6000...this would be my first Harley and wondering if this is a good deal.
Cheers for any help.
I'm taking you mean 200000 kms . Converted to miles is 124,000,give or take a few. That's alot of miles and alot of money for an old bike with alot of miles on it.,,
I paid roughly the same price for a '93 Heritage in mint condition with half that many miles on it and a Harley reman motor with 2000 miles on it. Sounds kind of high.
No, way too much $$ for that many miles, not matter what has been done to it. There are tons of low mileage garage queens out there, many for that kind of money....run away...
Got to agree with the others. I picked up a '97 Fat Boy with 3,000 on it for $8k two years ago. There's a lot of deals out there. That's not a deal. Shop around. Good luck!
I paid $5,500 for my '96 with 12 thousand miles on it. Bikes with those kind or miles have to be all but given away. I would offer $4,000 to $4,500 depending on how much you love the thing. Otherwise, look for a lower mile bike. Just have a spare pile of cash since maintenance issues are sure to creep up if you nab it.
