I've had my first Harley for three months now, and although of all the bikes I've ever had it has the most tolerable stock seat of any of them, it still isn't all that good.
It's a 1990 Ultra, and while the seat hight is just right, I need to sit back about an extra inch or so - got a bad knee and it just doesn't like to bend quite as far as the seat placement requires for more than 5 minutes at a time. I've looked in the forums, and searched the web, but haven't found anything that both looks right and is listed as fitting a bith this old.
I have the same problem and always get the low profile leather Harley seat, it sits further back and lower.
I just bought a new one (52095-08A) for my new bike, same as my old one, but diff front attachment. I think it could be modified to fit your bike tho.
You might look at the Mustang touring seats and get the 2 piece, which would move it back. If you don't have the tour pak, use the Road King or EG Standard seats.
Many other seat manufactures out there.
Give mean City cycles a call, they are a site sponsor and do very good work. We reccomend them to all our customers with great results. They will give you exactly what you ask for, so call them first and talk to them. They will give you a date that they will do your seat. You will ship it to them so that it gets there before that date, they do it and ship it back. That way the turn-around time is minimal. They have many different options available. Their warranty is phenomenal. My wife needed alittle foam removed because of a surgical back problem. We were going to South Carolina for a bike meet, so we called them and they said "Sure stop by!!" we did and they not only re-did her seat, but they were looking at the seat they did for mine and took the time to fix something that I hadn't noticed. That is what I call service!!! Hope this helps.
Plus 1 on Mean City Cycles. Though I have never had a seat done by them, I spend stupid amounts of time on this forum. In the years I have been reading about seats I have never, not once heard of a person getting a seat back from them that was not a gross improvement over the what they sent in. I can't think of any other vendor with such a reputation. I have even been thinking about sending them my Mustang seat, and its an amazingly comfy seat already.
