Default Fxlr tank strap

I am having my tank resprayed on my 93 FXLR.
The leather tank strap is fixed to the front tab by 2 crappy bolts and cross head screws.
These have been replaced by hand made stainless fixings( i have a great engineering friend)
The rear of the strap was held on by 3 tie wraps.
I think it should have some kind of elastic fixing, but not sure.
I will be putting the strap back on the tank, any ideas how to fix the rear end on it ?
Dee.

I see you're not having much luck. You might be right, go to a sewing store, get some suitable elastic, drill and tap a hole, bolt and washer and you're good to go. Having a hard time visualizing what you're up against. obviously not stock if it had zip ties. sooner or later you'll find something that works Trial and error.

The strap on my FXLR was held on by a zip tye at the bottom when I got it. Don't rmember seeing a hole in the frame for a screw. Once the seats on you won't see how it is attached so be creative.

Zip ties are a lot cleaner looking than the foot long piece of electrical wire holding mine on when I bought it.
