Dyna long oil filter question.

Yeah, I agree with everything you guys have said. I would like the longer filter, I would like more oil, and the plug is sticking out too far. But without pulling the primary, I think I am stuck. I got a great deal on a dozen short chrome filters on ebay, so I guess until I pull that primary apart thats where she will be for a while. I guess I have no reason what so ever to not install an oil cooler now. (lol) Yeah, this kind of pisses me off, but at some point me or some one is gonna break into that primary, and when I do I'm gonna fix that damn plug. Hell, I still have my 65 tooth sprocket just waiting for a reason to go on. Now I got a great reason to pull the primary apart.
mia, yeah. Good eye. Red locktite is my friend!!!

That is if I don't need to change my charging system.

heheheh,
had a little grin cross my face whilst reading this tread.
couple of years aog had a stator problem and brought her to the dealer to get it fixed.
New stator went in and dealer installed A LONG FILTER instead of the short one,
just so it would press against the stator plug and keep it in place.
Haven't got any problems with it yet?
good luck over there

Yeah, insp.clouseau, I suspect the long filter would keep the plug in place. I just checked mine again and it seems tight. I wonder why there is no spring or keeper on Evos like there was on my Shovel. The Shovel had a bolted on Spring and there was NO WAY that plug was coming off. If anyone knows of such a spring or keeper for an Evo, please let me know. Maybe its an unnecessary part on more modern bikes, but after years with Shovels I have learned its best to have any added safety measures I can.
Hey miacycles, you think I can loctite it on haha!

No problem. Glad some one on the forum wanted them. Beats dealing with the jamokes on ebay!
