Well written and thorough article. I love my evo and if I had $20,000 to buy a new twin cam bagger, I'd go buy 2 evo bikes instead.

Love it! He put into words exactly why I own an EVO. Before I bought my first Harley, my buddies would always tell me - you can't buy a Harley before the six speed, 96 CI, better frame, drive, bigger tank, blah blah blah. If I wanted all the new stuff, I would never buy, or I would be trading every year. I have never rode any bike and not reached for another gear that was not there, never had one I thought was too fast, usually could not ride them out of gas without needing to stop myself. I will stick to my old iron, thank you very much!

Awesome article. I especially love the part about bonding with your bike while doing repairs. Whenever I see the shiny new machines I know if I ever take the leap I will definitely be keeping my first Harley.

Makes me happy I bought the 1995. I was seriously considering a new Heritage.

Great article. He put way more thought into it than I ever have I just know I didn't like the way the TC's felt going down the road.

I agree 100% with the advantages of a carbureted bike.

All the more reason to keep my FXD forever. 56,000 trouble free miles. I do have 36,000 on my 2000 SE Road Glide 95". Did the gear driven cams and bigger oil pump though. Both run strong.

When we went to BBB rally last year, we were eating some breakfast inside a Mc d's/covenient store and we could see our bike through the window.

New bikes everywhere, but we were amazed at how many people (mostly older guys) would walk right by all those nice new bikes, then hold up by ours to look it over for a bit.

The OL asked me what's up with that, I told her, because it's a clean old EVO.

Great article--well written, informative and interesting--I love the simple design and the dependability of the Evo.
