Got the rest of my parts in today, got everything on and brought it out of the garage. Added some gas, pulled the enricher, crank, crank, crank.....cough. Crank.....fire, idle at 2200 with enricher out full, push it in and she only idles down to 1800.......crap!
Take it apart and the little black screw in cap that the cable goes into has a broken collar and wont let the valve close. Diconnect the cable, put it back together and she runs like a champ.
No test ride, still have ice on the driveway. Plus I still have to redo the vent systems and some other little stuff. Sposed to be in the 60's this weekend, and the snow is melting pretty fast, so I should be able to take a tester this weekend!
Went for a short ride today after chipping the ice off the driveway so I could get to the street, just a flannel, no gloves or jacket. I can tell ya it was a bit cold! Let her idle for about 10 minutes before the ride. Was getting the oil warmed up so I coul change it and the filter......man was it DIRTY!! Will change it again in 500 miles or so. Seemed to run pretty good, but I really didnt get on it. Lots of funny rattles and noises, like I didnt put a bolt on the front gas tank mounting bolt...lol, stuff like that. I will go through all the bolts and nuts to make sure everything is tight before ay major ride. Fixed the vent systems on the engine and trans, did a little more wiring clean up
I feel for you guys in ice and snow country. The worst I have to deal with is an occasional earthquake and some rain. Glad to hear your back in the saddle. Ride on!
