I recently picked up a 1985 FXEF,
its been sitting mostly for 10 years give or take, recently put a small amount of oil in the cylinder's flushed the fuel tanks and carb out and dry fired it a few times and brought it back to life.
ive put new tires on checked wheel bearing's and added new 10' apes
changed primary fluid flushed brake system added new dot 5, getting ready to do oil and tranny aswell.
is there anything else im missing that i should do in the process that im forgetting ? the Forums has been a great help thus far

The bolts that hold the calipers on also are pins that the caliper slides back and fourth on. Over time the grease on the pins drys up and the calipers will stick or not release fully. Remove the bolts,clean them and regrease them.
Had to do this on my Ultra and it hadn't been sitting at all. So great advice. And beautiful ST you have there sir.

MoCo service manual and parts manual is on order, just cleaned all the brake pin / bolts and greased them up. as soon as the manual gets in ill do the fork oil any tips to do this should i take the tubes off the bike or leave them on ? when i do this.
As long as the fork oil looks ok, I'd leave them on. If any moisture has got past the seals I'd dump them. My Sporty sat about 3 years and the old brake fluid gelled in the calipers. I flushed them and thought they were ok but had to pull the pistons and clean them. Also the old fluid can eat up the interior of the rubber lines and cause them to swell shut inside. The fluid will go into the caliper but won't release, thus locking the caliper. I'd also go the extra mile and rebuild the oil pump. If the check valve gets a little varnish on it, it won't seat. Run some Sea Foam in your gas first 2-3 fillups too. And like was said above, a full service.
One other thing, you must not forget. WARM the engine up before heading out. Warm it so the heads are warm to the touch, or stay below 2500 RPM's for the first 5 miles.
Non compliance will result in cylinder base gaskets leaking.
I use HD 20w50 engine oil and the Formula X for trans and primary. Change filter every engine oil change.
