Default RE: Help with starting issues

" So I get my ape hangers on, and get ready to go for a ride, when my bike wont start."

May not be related, but ...
My evo softail has a ground wire that goes from the top of the triple tree to one of the bottom riser bolts. One time I was messing with the handlebars/risers and broke that ground wire. THIS MADE THE BIKE NOT RUN. Spliced it back and it ran fine.Check if loose or broken. Don't recall if the starter would turn over.

Hope this helps.

Hi stout,

Had starterproblem with my '96 Fatboy to.
Starter engine turned over but could defienitly hear it skid instead of turning the engine over.
at first it happened every once and a while and started the engine.
Then one day, without specific cause, it you could just hear the skidding noise, no engine movement.

It apeared to be the bendix. New Bendix --> problem solved.

Good luck!!
