75K and you have half of the top end off---It's a no brainer. Freshen up the top end, the carbon build up alone can help the engine detonate. Freshen up the valves, seals, and rings. You shouldn't need an overbore, just use cast iron rings that need to be filed to fit and get the glaze broken on the cylinders. You will be glad you did when it's over, more power and probably better mileage to boot!! Hope this helps.

Thanks will let you know how it turns out. Freshen up the valves, seals, and rings. Happen to have all the stuff in the garage for that.
Pistons cleaning up good.
Except the front one where the valve relief is. Has carbon built up so its almost filled. Can't get it out.
Tried Seafoam pbblaster so far the best seems to be brake fluid.
Agree 100% with John above. Did same job recently to cure a leaky base gasket and it did not break the bank, even here in the Land of the Shamrock.............
De-glaze, rings, re-seat valves and a complete top end gasket kit with a Hayden Oil fix for the leaky base gasket, which by the by, I would recommend fitting as you have it stripped so it will save future hardship...........
Well both exhaust valves and seats are pitted pretty bad. So buying new exhaust valves. Stainless steel Stock length and stock 1.615" HEAD diameter. $25.00 for 2 ebay. Next well who knows.

If the seats are pitted bad they will need to be reconditioned and when there done reconditioning they will then need to measure for valves so don't rush to ebay to buy valves as you may need undersized length of valves.
Well at least I'm used to the way its going this year.
Started checking bottom end and had a friend look at it. For a second opinion.
Long story short, time to do the whole motor.
I had Truett & Osborn in Wichita Ks. do my last one. It ran a long time. Called $1500. They have been there since 1972.
Riding 2up cross country. Spend most my life between 2800 & 3500 rpms.
I have Dropped a tooth on the sprocket, 2-1 exhaust and S&S Super E.
Now the age old question.
What cam?
I have been looking at Andrews EV 23. Looks like a good cam for mid-range torq. I need reliability so mill heads .003 or not?

If the valve seats in the heads are pitted it's best to have the seats re-cut to clean them up. An alternative is to use lapping compound but from personal experience it takes nearly forever to clean up the seats by lapping. Years back I invested in a Neway Seat Cutter Kit and after the 1st use it paid for itself!!
