I have a 99 fatboy and looking for a one piece extended dash. I have found one from RWD but can't really find any other options out there. Is there anyone else selling them for the older softails? I would prefer something similar to the HD low profile dash. Can the HD lo pro be modded to fit? Any help is appreciated!

 

You're trying to find a modern custom feature for an older bike and I don't recall seeing any before. I don't know in what way your tank is different to a later one, but it would be worth contacting RWD. They may be able to tell you if older tanks are different, possibly how you can modify one of their dashes to fit.

 

Interesting topic. My fuel filler door rattles like crazy, and no amount of tightening it seems to help. The piece that goes over the actual hinge and has bolts through it into the door is of relatively soft metal that bends up easily when the bolts are tightened. I've looked for replacement doors etc. but for an '89 they seem to be made of unobtanium. This has led me to think that maybe I need to replace the entire tank panel with a later model one, but I don't know which ones might bolt up to my tank without modification. Anybody have any ideas?

Oh yeah, this would be for an '89 Ultra. I'm assuming the tanks on all '89 touring models are the same.

 

I found two complete dashes on flea-bay; a '98 and a '99. Will these bolt onto my '89 tank without modification?
