I've only used the EV27. I noticed a significant increase in induction noise, which would have drowned out any increase in valve train noise! I would be very surprised if any of us could tell the difference while riding along.
No experience with either one but I've read tons of comments about these two cams over the years. Everyone who ever had a EV-27 that was not happy with all the valve train noise that ended up switching to the V thunder claimed the valve train was was a hell of a lot quieter. Never heard anything mentioned about more power just being a lot quieter.
been running th VT 3010 & VT adjust. p/r's in me '94 Fboy for about 3 years now with no probs wotsoever...smooth, quiet & noticeable diff from stock...
i've run both.... but i had headwork done, so it makes a difference with how each of those cams will perform
the EV27 has a wider band of performance, IMO..... the VT3010 pulled nice off the line, much like the EV27, but it fell flat at around 3500+ at speeds reaching about 60+
i do have a VT3020 sitting on the shelf that I'm going to try out next season
