This is what I put in my bike.

It might be overkill but i figured better safe than sorry.

Thanks Texas, seems they´re updating their web store, hope they finish soon so I can see it :-)

Edit: Now works. The holder looks great, will look for it for sure!

Cheers

Hi guys!

Just to update. It's been a few days now riding the bike from the day I replaced the relay and seems the problem went away. :-) Today's ride, about 150 miles with 35-40c heat, and no problem so far on any stops we made.

I was wondering if would be a good preventive thing to install the cable anyway (and maybe good for cold start in winter) or it's better to just leave everything untouched (I guess this would be better, "if it isn't broken, don't fix it").

Cheers,

In this case, is it going to hurt to go against that rule? Rules don't take all into consideration, that's why rules evolve. It's a Harley, you've done lots of fixing to it when it wasn't broken.

Hehe, that's what I think, but want to make sure nothing bad could happen :-)

The first time I replaced the relay it was good for about 6 months.
The second time about 2 months and progressively shorter till it too about 2 days.

Not sure what cable you are talking about but if you are asking about the jumper wire (with fuse) then my advice is add it then you won't have a problem later.

Just my

Thanks for your advice, Texas. Will do it soon.
I founded these fuse holders in a store that is nearer/cheaper, but it stand "30amp"... Is that the maximum/min. that they support or they would work with a 20amp fuse? Thanks!

That is the max they are rated to withstand. They can always handle less, like the 20.

I'm pretty sure that's the maximum current that fuse holder is rated to handle. You should have no trouble putting a lower amp fuse in there.

I still need to get one of those for my FLSTN. I've gone through all the electrical connections, and each time I do that, or replace any component, the starter will work for a couple of months then start acting up again.

I also have one of the "push buttons" starter assist buttons on my solenoid end cap. With that, I can bypass the solenoid completely in an emergency and get the bike started. I highly recommend this modification for added peace of mind.

Thank you, guys! Will get one then, they even have one that lights when the fuse is blown..

Yes, I have the "magic button" installed, it's great for emergency. In fact, I recently had to put it in good use when the clicking appeared. It saved me a few times. :-)

Cheers,
