Default Munched Front Engine Mount

How many of you saw this coming? LOL!

Since I put in the remanned engine, I have been getting a gradually increasing vibration. It was so gradual though, that I thought maybe the fairing was coming loose, then maybe the radio pod was coming loose, then I thought maybe the crash bars up front, then I re-adjusted the primary, then when it seemed to get even worse, I was about to re-adjust the primary back where I started...

Then this morning I finally found that my front engine mount was munched. Talk about a forehead-slapper! LOL!

I remember at least one of you warning me to be careful of the front mount when re-installing the new engine. I thought I had been careful, but apparently not careful enough. Oh well.

I am off to the dealer to pick a new mount. Thankfully they have them in stock. Hopefully I can get back and get it put on before my family ride this afternoon... It'll be tight... Dealer is 45 minutes away, it's almost 10AM and I am supposed to meet them at 12:30...

While out on the ride, the biker from Florida I rode with told me that I probably should have changed the front mount when I changed the engine.

No one else has any comments about this?

After riding on it with the new mount, it was way stiffer at first with a lot more vibration, but it has been smoothing out. I guess it's just breaking in...

I replaced all my rubber mounts when changing the engine.
