I purchased my 07 Ultra with 5000 miles on it. It seemed to me the engine shook too much even then. In the last month it has got worse. I replaced the front engine mount at 28,000 miles the other day. The difference is amazing. The engine barely shakes now. The original mount had started to split. I purchased a Drag Specialties mount from a indie dealer for $20.00. Harley dealer's price was $75.00. Same company probably made both mounts. So. If your engine seems to be doing a whole of shaking. It might to be time for a front engine mount.
Do some searching. I'm not home so can't give the p/n but I found that the sportster or buell front motor mount was the same and away cheaper. My bike is 05 flht. Should help a lot. With handling.

Before I traded my 07 RK in on the new 14 SG the engine started to shake more & more.
The new Bike shakes less, but I think I will change the front engine mount at every 20k.

I think that would be a good move OldPhat. I was hoping to get a little bit more feed back on the subject. To see if my bike was an anomaly? I reckon there is not much interest in the subject. I mean. WTF. HARLEYS SHAKE.
This is a whole subject on its own... Just to put some meat on the bones.
The original mount was 16207-79B, this was the same as the Buell and Drag Specialities mount.
This was later updated to version C, which was a completely different mount then on around 2007 to version D as a service fix for failed earlier mounts. The D mount does not fit the Buell.
The later mount is much stiffer than the early unit so can give vibration problems on some bikes with the lighter EVO motor in.
The Drag Specialities mount seems to have a wide variation in stiffness. Some are good and some re bad, but at the price you pays your money and you takes your chances. If its a good one then it should work fine.
just last month, put a buell mount on my 08. half the cost of the HD mount. and the buell is stamped "assembled from parts made in U.S.A." whereas the HD mount is stamped "Made in China". next time I change it out, I will try the GlidePro mount.
many report after the changing the mount you notice much more buzzing in the footboards... this will usually go away after a few hundred miles or so. mine did it between 2100 and 2600 rpm but it eventually faded away. mount sometimes needs to break in.
About a month ago I changed my front motor mount, mainly because of so many posts on this site basically saying front motor mounts wear out soon. Found zero problem with the original 7 yr old mount. Changed it anyway but notice nothing different. I did find the paint peeling off my oil cooler mount plate so it wasn't all for nothing since I took care of that.
I did not have any vibration issue before or after the mount change. What I did when installing is I had the engine just barely raised off the mount, then made sure the mount was centered in the mount holes side to side and front to back, then lowered the engine and tightened the mounting bolts. No vibration issue at all.
