To summarize, he is asking if the front rubber engine mount will fail if oil gets on it and eats it up.
My question is this:
Are the fuel injection systems on these engines tough enough to withstand replacing the rubber engine mounts with metal slugs, thus eliminating the need to worry about oil spilling on it?
Or will that cause too much vibration and crack an injector or something equally ridiculous?
The injectors and intake are already hard mounted to the engine, so that is probably not a problem. I'm pretty sure replacing the rubber engine mounts with hard mounts will make for riding torture unless you also go to the B engine that has internal counter weights.... I think the FI reliability would be the least of your problems.
There are FI bikes that pretty much hard mount the engine to the frame, but their engines are 90 degree or have balancing features.
