I replaced the rubber engine mount and now the engine vibrates A LOT! I've loosened and tightened and adjusted...Not sure what else to do. It vibrates at low RPMs but is fine when cruising. Is this the engine out of alignment? Or do y'all have any ideas on what it could be?
The motor could be out of alignment as my 07 left the factory that way. My guess is the engine mount is stiffer giving you more vibes . Give it time and it should loosen up or check out the Search engine above for what other members have used.
Harley changed to a stiffer rubber I guess to keep the engine from flopping around so bad a idle. I understand getting the part for an old Buell is the answer as they are softer like the original. As far as alignment, I would check every Dresser. I had one RG that was great from the factory but it was totaled. The replacement RG was a mess from the factory. Once dialed in it handled like the old one.
did u start the engine with the mounts loose and let it fall into place. this worked for me. took most of the vibration right out. follow the manual and starting the motor and letting it run for 15 seconds with mounts loose then tighten mounts.
