Definetly, however the shifter pawl is another story. I forgot to mention that sometimes a loose shifter arm can do what he describes. I guess I didn't because it's pretty obvious, however if the person is a "newb" and doesn't know what to look for........!!

Exactly and that comes out with the shifter shaft, which can be done without a total strip down....
