Default Screamin Eagle carburetor instructions

I have recently acquired a '94 Fatboy and I'm told it has a Screamin Eagle carburetor fitted to it.

Just wondered if anyone has a copy of the service instructions for it they could send me or send a link to.

I need to adjust it as I believe its running slightly weak...

SE attached themselves to a CV, Mikuni, older butterfly type carb and a Quicksilver. Mikuni looks like a box, CV looks like a cylinder, the butterfly looks like a S&S, Quicksilver was used for wheelchocks so your going to have to help us help you.

That's a Keihin butterfly. It uses the same rebuild as the stock butterfly. It uses the same jets as stock also. They just use a different enrichener instead of a choke flap, and the air cleaner flange is just a round clamp on style. Use the stock shop manual for adjustments, it works exactly the same.

I had a couple of those. One on each bike. Way too big for the Sportster. OK on the big twin, but not as good as the S&S. Anyway, yeah, just adjust the idle mixture screw and swap out the jets as needed, and I would soak the jets and make sure they aren't gunked up. Most of the instructions that came with it are on how to install it, which obviously you don't need. There is 1 page of adjustment, but it is just "adjust the idle mixture screw and swap out the jets." I can scan it if you just have to have it.

I've not really had a chance to look at the carb properly yet, so I just need to identify what screw is which etc,....
If you have a diagram showing this it would be great......or if it's easier just tell me in words, any help would be great.

Fuel/Air mixture screw is on the bottom of the bowl and the throttle screw is right where the thorttle cables come in.

I used to have one of those on my bike and the best thing I did was take it off and put on an S&S which required a new intake but it was worth it.

Most people here will tell you to get a Mikuni 42 or a CV carb but I like the S&S because it is idiot simple.

Good luck

The idle mixture screw is on the top of the carb, back towards the manifold flange, kinda going straight down. There is a main jet access plug on the bottom towards the air cleaner side, on the right side of the carb as you look down the throat (front as it is mounted on the bike.) The only other adjustment is the throttle set screw, which should be pretty easy to figure out. After that, it's just a matter of replacing the jets.

Starting position on the idle mixture screw is 5/8 turn outward from full in, +/- no more than 1/8 turn. "This screw adjustment has a great effect on the entire fuel curve." That's it for the instructions. Pretty crappy instructions, actually, so you're not missing much.

Thanks for that info......as soon as I get a chance to take it out and warm the engine, I'll have a go at adjusting it.

I've another query regarding the front suspension.....however better start a new thread for that.
