I don't think debris is your issue, the bolts are not tightened and I think Mr Steer must have been half asleep when he put that rockerbox on (he actually had a really bad crash when racing at Pukekohe and he hasn't been the same since).......no wonder he has handed most of his engine work to me.....he breaks Jappers for a living now.
Make sure you check the 3 smaller bolts and the allen keys as well.
Don't take any notice of Ironwright....he thinks he's funny.......

Thanks mate, I'll make sure I check everything over properly, sad to hear he's not been the best.
Wow.....
Does anyone else think I wasted my time posting this question up here in the forum for everyone to see??
I'd guess IronWright thinks Spanners did the questionable work on your bike and you were outing him on it. Those of us who actually bothered to read the threads and comprehend, know different.
Thanks mate, & yea I guess when you re-read what ironwright had written, it does sound that way.
Rest assured ironwright, Spanners didn't do the engine work on my bike, it was done some 5-6 years ago by another guy that Spanners knows quite well. But there are no hard feelings with him either, because if you knew me, you'd know I'm not that kinda person to get angry at the drop of a hat
Spanners has been very helpful with my bike since I came back on here recently with my problems in getting it started, as has everyone else on this forum.
And thanks again for everyone's help on this little issue. I've torque'd the bolts down properly now, & the front cylinder was all good when I checked, so we'll see how it goes on the next ride
Will do mate - I'm hoping to get this certified this week & on the road before xmas...yea!!
I'll start her up this morning & see if it's still doing the same thing but I doubt it. I chucked on some standard mufflers last night for the certification so it'll be interesting to hear the difference. I quite like the look of them too as the longer pipe seems to suit the bike...hmmm... might put some pics up & get peoples opinions there
People's opinions don't count for sheeit, if you love it, then love it......at least The Man will leave you alone if you don't put the short shots back on :-)
I didn't see it posted here. But those rocker base screws are not all the same length. Two are 3500 and the other two are 3501's. They look the same but they are not the same length. So, did somebody put the screws in wrong?
