Kushman I chose Fueling lifters on recommendations from others as well as reading other forums on the net about Fueling lifters. I know of HD Cycles but I deal with Raf from Aviation Cycles in Port Credit.
I considered going with a steel replacement breather vs. H-D plastic, but the majority of the Wrenches I talked to advised against it. Their theory is that the plastic breather can't cause damage to the cases & that the Steel Breathers could. My stock breather actually check out fine, but a new stock H-D Plastic Breather was only about $6.50, so I just figured why not change it while I'm in there.
For those that have done a cam up grade did you change out the plastic breather gear? If so did you replace with Jim's or S&S?
I have a 97 HD RK and I'm going with a Andrews EV27, Andrews chromoly adjustable pushrods, Fueling lifters and Torrington cam bearing.
I've done a lot of research on this and one Indy out of three recommended changing out the plastic breather gear. Should I or is the one Indy trying to make an extra buck? He quoted the Jim's breather gear at $110.
Any input would be much appreciated.
Im planning on doing the same on my springer in early spring.

Most times we leave the plastic breather gear alone when we are in there.
We do use the +.030" S&S gear(bored on a vertical mill) when the breather cavity is torn up.
On another note, if you ever decide to remove the cylinder heads, remove .060" from them, and that cam will REALLY come to life, and you'll also increase fuel enconomy as well.

Installed SE-11 cam and did not change breather, did need to go back and purchase the correct cam gear spacer for end play during install.
Evo always did have breather weep. Either puked on the cam cone once in awhile or misted my right leg and bag during hard use. Solved the breather blow by / oil mist on the right bag problem by adding a brass Tee to the rubber vent line with a rubber hose to bottom and added a brass valve. Oil mist from crankcase breather passing through the brass tee would allow heavier than air oil to settle in the rubber drop line. Opened valve whenever I thought about it, usually on a gravel surface, to let oil drain out.
I put the S&S reed valve in, about 7 years ago, in my stroker motor. Unless you have a stroked motor, or really need to change breather timing, I would stay with the plastic HD breather.
I just had SE11 installed in my 95 Bad Boy and they suggested the breather upgrade. I had all of the work done at my local HD shop. The upgrade sound great but I will not get to ride it until April when the snow melts.

Your really gonna like that cam, loads of torque. Hopefully you have replaced the stock carb with something having a larger throat. Makes those 2nd and 3rd gear shifts a lot more exciting....hang on tight!
