Also as far as I know, there is no aftermarket tuner. ie power commander etc.
Check under right side cover and see what ECM is in it. If its a MM re-flash it with the stage II module. If you can't find one let me know I have one and a new ECM. Plugs sound good for a bad sensor. How does it run other than fuel mileage? Peak in with a flash light and see what color injectors are. Black or Red? From there we can help
Another thing to consider and a main reason I need to know what color injectors you have, is if a bigger cam is in it and say it's a EV27 which there is a good chance it's similar, the injector duty cycle comes into play. Black stock style injectors barley have enough *** to make a stock MM bike run correct. However the red injectors have twice the duty cycle in size. Over taxed injectors can cause the bike to do all kinds of stupid things. Usually they run real lean, but have seen lean conditions take out ETS and cause ECM to dump fuel at certain RPM ranges causing **** poor fuel economy. And if it's at the any given RPM range plugs could clean back up down near idle. Also reading plugs is tough on todays gas
She runs like a top. A brother in my club rode the bike before I bought it and said how strong and solid the engine was running.
Never had any problems in the way the engine performs in the short time I have had it!
Where can I see the injectors? I can easily take photos just need an idea of where to look. Easier to see under tank from right side of bike next to air cleaner or from other side above the Horn?

From the right side is best. one front one rear right on top of the throttle body, on each side of the fuel lines. Each will have a two wire connector plugged in it on top, although at an angle towards each other. Can't miss them. Really see them if their red. I'll bet they are black
Any chance someone is repeatedly sucking fuel out of the tank overnight or when parked someplace?
Because that is a rather large drop in average miles, especially if the bike is running good.
Sure that electronic speedo is correct? 22 mpg would have the plugs in a condition other than showing white as mentioned. The Evo forum has pointed everything out for tuneing issues and need to check for a piggyback system behind the left side cover or under the seat. Impossible to tune a EFI by plug color but yours should be charcoal color right now at 22 mpg.
Have seen the ETS fail and dump fuel by the ECM thinks it is in cold mode but your exhaust should produce black smoke from a throttle flip at idle to full roll on with that much fuel on it and agree with IM, with no tuners attached to your current setup, it is running lean.
So...while dealing with my other issues in my starting problems post I discovered I do have a power commander 2 installed.
Also here is an image of my under side of my tank. Plugs are great. I am leaning towards a very poor tune at this point. Open to any other thoughts though.
And no one is siphoning fuel from my bike. It is in a garage nightly.
Yep, like I said in an earlier post, thats the first place to look. Find a reputable tuner in your area and have him tune it with an exhaust gas analyzer. That way you know it will be right. All too often tuners pour the fuel in to get every last fraction of horsepower available and end up wasting more than they are gaining. Keep us posted!!!

HD spends millions of dollars in research and development to get all components of each bike to run correctly (I won't tell you about the EPA mandates that they're mapped lean). Whenever you change ANYTHING having to do with performance you need to get new info to the ECM or brain. Same goes for fuel economy. Downloaded maps are never right. You can take the same 2 identical bikes off the factory line and they will read different. The only way to tune your bike correctly is to dyno. Don't work for them but dynojet power commander is the best out there. I can get a bike to run perfect stoichiometric effiency (best air/fuel mixture)through all gears/rpms with dyno. This will make your bike run better than from the factory line. The only way. Basically if you have the cash, the best upgrade you can do is fine tune with power commander. Just remember you will have to do exhaust and intake. You will be amazed at the difference and you can bet you will get the most life out of your engine.
