Default Tappet sources?

Other than Ebay, anyone know who would have the best deal - on oem Harley roller tappets for our Evo's? I believe there are two different types, don't know what the difference is between the two (maybe just years offered)?

I am gathering all the parts etc, to swap in an EV27 cam. My 97 Road King has 28K on it, and some folks have told me I can reuse the tappets. On a new cam, I figured I better go with new tappets. The push rods I will be using are new Andrews adjustable.

Spanner39,
Thanks for the quick reply and link! Looks as if they have a distributor in Chicago. I'll have to stop by, and pick up some tappets! Thanks again : )

Oh; one more question - should I also replace the tappet blocks, when installing the new tappets. Or; reuse the tappet blocks with 28K on them - if they are in good shape?

You can reuse your tappet blocks.

S&S lifters, are our "go to" lifters here in our day in/day out engine building.

Im doing same on my 90 EVO. My 2 cents only ... since you are doing the right thing by replacing the roller tappets , i would replace the blocks also as they are not expensive and receive wear as much or more than the tappets.
You will also be changing the dreaded block gaskets for new and with a chance to seal them with a gasket sealer , you wont have to worry about this
common leak problem.

Default Johnson lifters

I used them at Spanners suggestion and they fit very well and worked after a few miles on the road. They are now in their second week and even with all the trouble I had with my adjustable pushrods the lifters are doing great.
