Yeah, it`s in a fun spot on a Softail. You can probably just pop the breaker out of the mounting clip and pull it out a bit.

just got done with this and happy to report it works! i picked up a 30a inline fuse, pulled the #30 lead out of the harness and then shrink tubed it so it wouldn’t short anything. pressed the new lead into the harness and it fired right up. thanks again all and props to dan89flstc for the heads up on not needing a second relay!

Again, all you need to do is run a wire from the silver stud on the main breaker to terminal 30 on the existing starter relay.

Disconnect the previous wire that was connected to terminal 30 (you can remove it or just coil it up and secure it as long as you cover up the end of the wire properly.

Simply wire it like an old Evo Softail...

I highlighted the new wire in red.

I realize this is an old thread but would this solution also work on a ‘95 FXD Superglide that suffers from the dreaded click? TIA

Yes. Theoretically it would apply to any relay that needs a good, designated power supply.

daven9113 has since proven all that "witches nightmare" of wiring is totally unnecessary on a Tour model but he is too shy to admit it and show hows it's done. Actually I think he did post how he repaired his. No one paid much attention. Cheat for a Softail is simple and effective.

Let this thread disappear in history.
