my old EVO suffered major engine failure at 39,000.....put a new one in and sold it at 16,000 with no more problems.......great engines but hardly "indestructible"

1994 FLHT-P I bought new. Has a little over 100,000 miles on it and all that's ever been done is regular maintenance until about a year ago when it lost the needle bearings in one of the lifters and damaged the cam. put in new lifters and adjustable pushrods and replaced the cam with a stock cam from a 1991 EVO. If possible it runs even better than originally. Here's the twist in that it's far from babied as it's almost exclusively used to do motor escort work, essentially mini drag races then slam on the brakes. Been riding since 1970 and it's hands down the best bike I've ever owned.
