My FLTRI is equipped with the infamous Magneti-Morelli injection system. I have always been a staunch defended of MM, recognizing the fact that the only real shortcoming was the inability of most tuners to get it right. Those who agreed also said that the real limits to MM came when mods for more HP reached a high level. I have arrived, plus my tuner has closed shop and his replacement does good work but hasn't mastered MM.
So, I am preparing for the swap to a carb. I have a CV carb with the cruise linkage and a carb tank. My search on the subject revealed another MM member here that came to the same conclusion, 1997Bagger. He has posted a list of parts for the swap, and he is happy with the results. At his recommendation I had installed a Woods 6 cam, and that may be part of why we are both switching. I'll be contacting him when the time comes.
More later, after it warms up a bit.
Good.choice! Best thing I ever did to my 98 RKC was ditch the MM EFI and slap a mikuni and a dyna 2000 on there. I love my W6 too (although I bumped my compression to 10.2:1... bike really came alive after that)
And now I've got the manifold (PC black!) and found an ignition kit that has most of everything I need (iggy, wires, coil. cup).
I'm wondering if I buy a used harness if it would have the discontinued part I need. Wiring sucks.

I believe Jasper has a detailed wire schematic, I know the Evo harness that is plug and play is discontinued, the Twinkee harness can be adapted. I ended up using the Ultima 2000I kit which is all you need, the connector body under the tank with the white wire and black tracer is ignition feed
Yep, the Ultima kit is the one I'm getting. I was sick the day they taught wiring, so I may need straightened out. I've read the posts, so I just need to get into it.
i detailed the wiring harness i built in this thread. was pretty cheap (~ $40 when all was said and done), couldnt find the carb interconnect harness anywhere I looked (been listed "obsolete" for years)
not yet. been raining/snowing/miserable out for the last month or so...hasnt moved
actually on the lift now for a chain conversion...just gotta clean out the garage so i can actually work in there again (sorta looks like 10lbs of **** in a 5lb bag at the moment)

When I had my '98 Ultra, I put a CV carburetor on it too. Removed all problems I ever had. What I did was to make my own harness using the wiring diagram to follow the wire colors.
