Figured it's probably a question for a general thread, but the folks here are much more knowledgeable it seems
Got fat 14" apes on my Heritage. The height seems to be just right, but there is not enough pullback and "dropdown" (whatever this is called, kinda buckhorn style).
So basically I am looking for something like buckhorn-like apes or very high buckhorns.
Tried to look online, as well as catalogs at a local shop. Nothing. There are some cheap ones, but if I want the similar thing that I have - 1 1/4" with 1" clamps and internal wiring (just wiring though, not the throttle cable) - I found nothing!
Any suggestions gentlemen? Where can I find something so particular?
I never could figure out why buckhorns are not more popular. I had them on my 84 Sportster, and now on my Softail Custom, and they are super comfortable. I think they look good also. Now it seems to be apes or drag bars. Maybe it is just because I am so use to them.
the picture looks like the regular buckhorns that i have. i think they are 10" tall. i love those bars. a tall buckhorn would be interesting.
Only 10" ? They look almost like my 14" apes. Do we measure to the end of the grips?
If so, I might be alright with 12" buckhorns - they would still look fairly tall and I can live with my hands being even a bit lower (I ain't a big dude anyways).
