Pushrods
I am about to put in my order for a ev27, Johnson lifters, torr bearing, oil fix kit and fixing a leaky base gasket. My question is do I need to replace the factory pushrods? I know the ez installs makes it easy to do the cam upgrade and stuff but I have to fix the base gaskets so its going to be tore down far enough to use regular pushrods and if I can just use what I have I see no reason spending the cash on ez installs. I can just cut the factories out later and replace with ezs if need be... I searched with no results...
Okay thanks, thats what I was thinking but I haven't really done a whole lot of engine work and didn't know if they got wore enough to change them. And, I have done some reading and it looks like I will go with a cometic or james gasket kit.
The only benefit of adjustable pushrods is so you don't have to pull appart your rocker boxes.
Since you are doing that anyway keep the stock ones just make sure they go back where they come out of. It is vey important as they are a particular size
Good deal and thanks you guys!! I really didn't want to deal with having to adjust those anyways. That was really the only thing that I was dreading with this whole thing. It doesn't seem that hard but if I can just use the stockers and drop them in thats great. On my list in my original post does it seem I have everyhting that needs replacing? The bike has 30,000 on it right now. Maybe the plastic oil gear or whatever it is called? Thanks again..
Breather gear thats it not oil gear as I was calling it. Okay, so the seal in the cam cover is that the bushing for the cam?

Seal in the cam cover, you can check the bush clearances as your oil pressure is dependant on that bush to an extent but they last for ages.
It's the seal behind the brass bushing, or in front of depending on your point of view....Real easy to change when the cover is off...The bushing should be fine..
