I recently purchased this one owner ’96 Springer for my next project. She fires up but won’t stay running … I suspect it is carburetor related. The bike has been sitting for a while and needs help / TLC. Not sure what I will do to her, but I do plan on dropping that rear and raking the front. The windshield, bags and seat are now on Craigslist. I’m not fond of the candy purple, so will likely change out the tins. I also just scored a used 2 into 1 V&H that will replace the existing exhaust. In no hurry to finish … should be fun to tinker with.
nice find! I see your Sporty so you're no stranger to the Evo and chopping. I actually like the 1990s style king'n'queen seat. It looks comfy but I am sure that is what the Glide is for. Keep the thread alive as I love the transformations on this sub-forum!
Love the colour mate.
Me personally, I'd chop the rear guard, put the old Tigged Sissy on there and rake the front a bit.Ten inch risers with Straight bars or 16" apes hehe.
Otherwise looks sweet.
Here’s a pic with the extras removed. She was filthy, and I used two cans of engine degreaser just to get the oil & dirt off. I’ve pulled the carburetor and it is a gummed-up mess.
Awesome find. That is exactly how my 97 looked when I got her. Bags, shield, bars, seat, very dirty etc. Now she is lean, mean and runs like a champ. Not as comfy but I love it. My biggest changes were the carb and I ended up with a BDL primary due to many problems I was running into.
