Went for a little ride today. Tranny been shifting perfect but stopped at the hang out and wouldnt go into neutral, kept playin with it but no go. goes into all the other gears just fine so rode off to drive it a bit and started going into neutral again just fine. Went home and adj cable slightly till cable slack was about 1/8. hope that does it. Fresh fluids through out. Belray in primary, amsoil 90-130 tranny. Is there something I can adjust in tranny? Maybe new plates? Look like old plates would disengage to shift easier.
Charactistic of the older 5 speed, you can check the shift fork adjustment but sometimes when everything is right, neutral can still be hard to find. A trick to find neutal is slightly pull up on the shifter and give the throttle a little blip and it will fall into neutral on the way up with rpm's or on the way down. Sometimes ATF in the primary will help with the clutch dragging allowing neutral to be easier, large portion of Evo owners run ATF in the primary but it is still a personel preferance.
The White Bike did what you are saying until I put a Baker in it and the Baker falls into gears and neutral, nothing else was changed so can't blame it on the clutch or adjustments
Yea it's strange that 99% of the time its perfect and very smooth then every great now & then it gets sticky but never for long. Usually soon as I go thru the gears it's ok again.
Also helps to get into neutral before completly stopped. Have to talk to my super mech.
After the ride to Killer Creek today, Im not too conserned. That synthetic Amsoil in tranny, I may need to go back to dyno.. Baker 6 would be nice. Thanks 97.
for what it's worth, my RKC isnt quite "tuned" (as in, it hasnt been on a dyno with a pro yet). carb and timing is dialed in pretty close...at least as close as we can get it without doing 100mph pulls up and down my streets, and so far, i get along good with the neighbors, so thats out
i'm running a W6 @ ~ 10.2:1 CR in a bagger, and she'll do wheelies ripping into second gear.
you're gonna be happy
what are ya running for a carb / exhaust / ignition module?
S&S E, Straightshots they may get changed, Dyna adjustable igniter. Just put on the Progressive 444 and they ride smooth and the bumps fade away pretty well. I have newly built front forks with progressive so shes riding nice.
Jasper, is that W6 fairly quiet or is there a bit of added noise? Any draw backs?

Heh my bikes noisy all over cant really blame it on the cam specifically. Drawbacks? Not really. Falls off around 5800 or so, but for usable torque on a non drag only bike I don't think it can get any better without making its dog down low
