Default Should I?

Installing in my brother's bike:

Wiseco 9:1 forged pistons, 95"
Andrews TW37B cams
Baisley LSR2 spring
Putting new inner/outter cam bearings in.
Bike has approximately 15,000 miles

He bought it last Fall
'99 EG Standard

While I'm in there, should I go ahead and change the chain tensioners?

Any chance on getting the heads worked? That would benefit the build the most. Definitely replace the cam tensioners.

It would have to be a very little head work, maybe a "cleanup" job.
My brother's company is struggling and he doesn't have the money for this.

I'm footing the bill for the motor work and I can't sink a lot into his bike.

If I could get the heads cleaned up for around $300...I'd do it.
I can't afford to put $1000 into his heads when I'm in the beginning stages of a HQ 120" build.

Nice brother. I don't know but I though the old ones were only good for 30-40,000 miles and the new ones were much better. Keep up the good work.

IIRC, the cam chain tensioners are $31 each, so $62 for both list, and a definite R&R since you will have the cam plate out.

I purchased the LMR oil pressure relief spring but didn't install it when my cam chain tensioners were replaced and HQ-0034 cams installed because I had read of very high oil pressures (basically, pegging the gauge) on start-up. My oil pressure has been fine since the installation roughly 20K miles ago.

Very nice things you are doing for your brother; hope he appreciates it.

Where are you getting new tensioners for $31 each?
I just left my local HD dealer, got the price while I was there...$67 each.

I'm also putting the LMR-2 spring in...I think it was $16 to my mailbox.

did mine here : http://www.bigboyzcycles.com/showthread.php?p=17

Definitely replace the tensioners, or go with the Andrews Roller Cam Conversion as long as your using their 37.

I'm forwarding this to my brother so he can save up to build my motor
