was talked into 203 cams for a 95"se flat top build w stock 06 heads on a deuce well i dont like them im sure this has been out there b4 goin to geardrive andrews 26 ,37? or others head gasket is whichever one comes standard w se 95"kit heads are not coming off bike thanks
A bit of advice in the form of a true story. My partner had 204 put in cause he wanted more. Couldn't tell alot of diff. so added Thunderheader pipe. Not enough. Next BB and tw26. Told him he needed head work of some form to realy wake it up. No Just wanted alittle more. Well I'm waiting for a set of heads to get back from porter to help put on his ride now. He would have saved litary over $1000 to do it all the 1st time. If the 203 and BB are not enough I doubt a cam change alone is going to satasfy your need for power. The stock heads are choke point on a twin cam and no matter what you do you have to get air in to really make it shine. Cam chang by self will help but from the way you talk your looking for thr WOW factor not the wow factor. Look at my build. Easy and fairly straight foward. If you want a cam only you can look at S&S 510 also. No experance with HQ cams but a lot of people love them. Seem to give a little more WOW factor cam for cam than others.
I have to agree with JLOCKHART29on the Headwork.I just completed my break-in miles from a 95", 203's, Head Work, with a thunderslide for the Carb. The bike flat out moves. Huge difference. I was looking at gear driven Cams (Andrews), but for warranty purposes, I kept it HD... for now. The shop was the one who recommended the headwork over no headwork and over Screaming Eagle Heads. They said if your getting the 95" and cams you NEED the heads ported... After reading some stuff here and talking to others they all agreed. It helps the motor breath better... I am no mechanic so I am depending on what others tell me. I guess from what I have read and from what I feel on the bike I did well, maybe even 90+ hp and torq? I may(if I have time) get it ran on a Dyno to be sure, but I can tell there is power from 0-90mph
Had the 95 kit installed at purchase of a 2004 Road King Custom. It has the HD 203 cam and HD SE Heads with SE Race Turner, Dynos at 97 LB of torq and 93 HP.
Have put 20,000 miles on it and it still runs strong.
I'm going to do the 95" kit with the HQ 034 G cams, S&S gear drive, headwork by Big Boyz, Cometic .031 head gaskets, andSE Race Tuner. I can't seem to find a dealer selling the HQ cam's Any suggestions?
BTW, these mods are going on an 04 RK Firefighter's Spcial with Rinehart TD's and Stage I intake. Supposedly I'll end up with 95+ HP and 95+ or - Torque!
Id use the 37 cams. even at that compression it will run good. If you havent already you could get more comp. by swicthing to the .030 Cometic
head gasket.

I get my HQ stuff right from Head-Quarters.

Tiiiim2 ~ While I TOTALLY agree with you about the 203's (I had a set in for all of a month & couldn't get them out fast enough!), what has been said by many is very true regarding head work!
Your Deuce would love you for a set of properly worked over stock heads. That would also give you the chance to match cams to their "preferred" compression ratio.
If you wanted to simply swap cams for now, I would look hard at HQ-0034's because they will run fine w/stock compression, but are not as problematic (specifically pinging) as others are if/when you might decide to increase compression and/or get some head work. Doug @ HQ can hook ya up!
