Stroker pistons have the pin location higher in the piston to offset the longer stroke, a stock location pin setup would drive the piston into the head with a longer stroke. It is possible that the piston pins location was misdrilled for the stock pistons lowering it in the bore but would result in lowered compresson. I'm starting to think there is a machining issue with the pistons that was used as in piston pin location or skirting machining not in specs
