Default Front caliper rattling

First ride of the year and I have the front caliper rattling. I took it off the fork this past winter to check the pads and thought I put it back on the same way, but it didn't rattle last year. There is a clip inside that i thought only was there to keep the piston side pad in place, but now I wonder if its an anti-rattle clip too. I don't have a manual yet, and I've done endless searches and watched all the youtube videos I could find and cant see any close ups of how an assembled caliper is supposed to look like. Can anyone help out with pictures? It is a single piston caliper, left side only, on my 93 Heritage. Thanks.

Fits in the frame like this and the spring blade presses down on the top of the pad. So you push the balde up and slide in the pad. Ignore the red square.

So the ear of the pad gets tucked under the spring to hold it close to the piston? Is there another piece that may be missing. i.e. anti-rattle clip?

Nope, that's all there is. Couple of things to check are play in the mountings, make sure the sliding ones are greased. Also, if the O ring round the piston gets compressed the pads will come too far back that can make the pads rattle.

Thanks Spanners, I will check that today. I probably did wipe any grease away when I was in there this winter. I also learned a valuable lesson with that little nib in the red box. Figured out it had to line up with one of the 3 notches on the upper bolt slider. Coulda been tragic. I gotta get a manual soon before I kill myself. LOL. P.S. Did you hug an Aussie yesterday on Internation hug an Austrailian Day? Just kidding.

I fixed it. I was putting the piston side pad between the clip and the housing. Was letting it rattle away. Once i jammed the pad up against the clip and lined it up in the "slider" bracket, its good and tight. No noise, no nasty squeal (The clip was rubbing on the edge of the rotor). Its perfect again. Thanks Spanners.
