Cool New donk

Mate my best advice is steer clear of the Chinese made Demons donks that are even cheaper cuts of the Ultima. pay the bucks go for S&S and all the parts will match up and work
in fact steer clear completely of the whole Demons website and all the crap they make in China, caused me nothing but troubles

I had been told that Ultima had come good these days? I wold love an ss....trying to muster up the coin, im wondering what I will get for my evo motor. That will determine what I can afford. Then the fun begins.....

For what it is worth Miacycles (one of the top wrenches here) swears by Ultima motors.

Agree with the Demon's trap!

On resale value, the S&S will be more appealing to a buyer so something to consider. My take on engines is if I had the extra coin available, I would buy a big cube S&S, do they have failures, yes they do but think it is more of a investment.
Ok, THC mentioned John(Mia) supporting Ultima with experiance and I have to admit, experiance is golden. A hall of fame engine builder named John Sachs takes Ultima engines and makes them scary fast with just some clean up, has no problem blowing away chest thumping dyno sections and John is a straight shooter, he did my heads and set my engine up and has a no BS approach towards business, I trust him with my equipment and that doesn't happen much so with John Sachs speaking highly of Ultima, I would have no problem running one of there engines. Ultima's engine problems were rockers breaking and lifter issues which both have been tamed but would still contact John S for inside info on what he sees with the Ultima's he has his hands on, once again experiance is golden

used Evo engines don't fetch too much. i see they don't sell all that often on eBay. there are a lot for sale however. a twin cam 96" pulled out for a 120r can be had for less than $2k. Not sure of the resale market south of the equator however.

"I'm not to flash with the spanners"...that sounds really cool. Even though I'm a southern Indiana hillbilly, I'm going to use that sometime!

Thanks boys! Its a sticky one. If I had a bit more loot, ss would be the one. I have a guy here in Oz, who sells Ultima. He is highly regarded and Ive not heard any complaints from his many customers. I have heard of several unhappy Revtech kids, and Im not considering it an option. The market in Oz is quite diff than US. We get smoked on price. I paid $7500aud for an 04 sporty 883 with 40,000 km on clock. Sold it 18 mths later for a similar price. I salivate looking at harleys on US Ebay....cheap as chips! The dollar is pretty equal now, but the HD pricing has not moved. We pay roughly 15k Usd for a new iron off he show room floor. $650-$700 usd for a made in China HD jacket.very frustrating, so, for a used evo in good cosmetic condition, running with no faults, prob around 2500aud. So, will be looking at another 2500 for engine. I just think after rooting around with porting, cams, labour etc...a new powerplant is the go....Im loving the advice...really keen to hear any and all experiences and advice guys. Will try to tone down the Steve Irwin language. Not too easy when I run a pub and deal with the lowest common denominator.......ride safe....and thanks again....
