Can I go with the Avon Cobra in the rear and the Venom in the front? The Front Venom is on it's way. I will probably have to go with the Cobra in the rear, as no-one seems to carry a rear Venom in MT90H16.

Check out my tire thread I just started, the engineer stated not to mix tire brands/models due to differences the in proportion of, and reactivity properties of rayon, polyester & nylon.

That is the setup I have now and no problems, the bike has no tail wags in any conditons and was hitting asphalt blemishes to test them, bounced a couple 90 mph runs with confidence. throttled hard out of some curves, changed lanes to the inside part during a sharp curve so the setup while be fine. The rear Cobra was just put on today and first time out
Mentioned earlier that the front Venom got better after some miles was put on it, seemed like the contact area was thin when new.
The white walls are better on the new Cobra than the Venom, that is the real selling point

1997bagger,
Thanks for that info! I have heard in the past, that you shouldn't mix tire tread patterns/brands etc. Like I mentioned; I already ordered the Venom for the front wheel, and it's in route. If I had know that Avon was phasing out the Venom's with the Cobra - I would have gone Cobra for both wheels.

Ron Bowen stated average riders need about 100 miles to mechanically abrade the oil off the tire from the mold process.
