Ok, going to try to see if pushing down on enrichner helps and depending on cost I mite go ahead with wires and new coil. I keep going back to electrical just as you all point ou simply because it only acts up if it hot outside? As if coil isnt sparking hot enough to burn the excess fuel before it fouls out...Let ya knw what happens within next few days.
Those old Evo coils rarely go bad - I'd just get the SE wires for about $15 first. If you have
original wires you'll need them anyway. Just a suggestion.
Just for the helluvit, go get a pair of cheap Champion RN14YC's. For whatever reason, that's what works the best with my S&S, open drag pipes and EV-27.
Let me ask another question. When it hesitates is it a sudden jolt or a cough. Bad plug wires can cause the sudden jolt. Almost a scarry feeling when it happens. I learned one time that I had plug wires "leaking" because I reached down to hit reserve and BAM!!! shocked the crap out of me when I hit the wires. I knew right away what was causing my problem.
When it goes to stumble at idle it is lobing like a carbed harley and all of a sudden gets slower and slower til it cuts off unless given gas? kind of like if you take choke off before it is ready...lobes and them slows down and cuts off...Hope that helped lol

Maybe I need to try that? I have been running Harley plugs but I will put that on the list for pick up Saturday! And also definately getting stock wires! No need to spend $70 on plug wires when motor is stock so thanks I'm with you guys their!
For whatever reason, the air pump in my bike likes the hotter plugs. I've got an assortment of plugs that I tried and those cheapies work the best for me. They were in the bike when I bought it and thought it had the wrong plugs. They are just the right plug for my combo, individual results may vary.

Besides for running cheaper plugs, did you change the air bleed jet any at all from wgat came in the carb?

S&S carbs run an idle fuel jet - not an air bleed setup like CV's. Your choice of stock wires is
smart as some high dollar secondary wires exhibit EMI and/or RFI problems in bikes like yours.
Happened to me years ago and cost me bucks before I figured it out - they sure looked good
though.lol.

Actually S&S's do run an air bleed jet. It is replaceable in any carb made since 2004. Before 2004 it is made into the body of the carb.

Correct TEXASHILL! Newer s&s definately have air bleed jet! Seen the "s&s and drag pipes" video and thats one of the first things they suggest is changing the air bleed jet size to compinsate for drag pipes...Qudoes!

They are stock with a 40 but I'm running a 52 (hand drilled) and I can't really tell a difference.
Did you change yours and if so could you tell a difference?
