Default Old Saddle Bags

'87 Bagger

My bike has the old style bags on it and I can't find liners. Has anyone lined these old bags with something? I am open to paint or fabric or whatever.

Looking forward to your ideas!

They didn't come with liners. I don't think liners were an option either. You could certianly do it yourself with some leather or whatever. Umm... Why?

You could use speaker box material like I did to my Tour Pack https://www.hdforums.com/forum/evo-c...pac-lined.html . I will do the same thing to my bags once I get the body work done to the right side bag. I used good contact cement, painted it on thin with a good brush so it didn't soak the material. I painted both surfaces just like you'd do when working with Formica. It's nice and soft, and the glue is holding great.

Very pretty bike Tom!!!

Thanks for the ideas. Prolly going with the speaker material. Had a bud use carpet but there are too many curves in the older bags.

Factory Saddlebag Liners were available, but now obsolete.
If you search, some may be available new. Or search and be found used.

Liner Kit (both sides) 91847-88
left liner 92836-82
right liner (short) 91837-88A

I have a set of these bags on my EG so I was interested enough to check. Looks like 91847-88A is the updated liner kit and still available for about $50.

So your riding a 27 year old Hog and you only need info. to reline your bags .?
You must be doing everything right Bro.? Many cudos to you.

I had the same problem and bought a roll of the same stuff that is used to line the drawers of a tool box . Its a roll of perforated sponge rubber and its very easy to work with and cheap. A spray can of contact adhesive and a pair of scissors is all you need.
Double or triple the layer on the bottom .
