Default Wheel choice help.....

I have a 1985 Low Rider FXSB (stock trees/tubes and swing arm). I am giving it a face lift and I want to go with 16 inch touring wheels front and back. From the research I've done, it appears that I can use wheels from 84-99 models and they will fit. Is this correct?

I am also going to be swapping out the narrow glide front end with a dual disc wide glide set up.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Its late and I read the title as "weed choice"...I was gonna say Mexican...but now I have woken up, yes, you can use any wheel that takes taper-roller bearings and they did between the years you indicated :-)

Back to your question, yes that should work. You want wheels with tapered roller bearings, which on the touring bikes were replaced with ball races around 2000.

Take a close look at this , before you buy anything. The touring bikes use a large thick rear rotor and a bigger caliper than is stock on your bike, which may bolt right up.
