In my driveway, I turn the bike off to place the screwdriver in the hard to find idle screw, then turn the bike on, it all goes dead. It's been an hour, and all I have is just the very slightest of light coming off the dash when I turn the bike on, but nothing else. Battery is good, I tested that. All my fuses are good, and doesn't the main circuit breaker reset it's self?
How about starting with a little more info??? Year, model, what mods have been done to it. That would be a big help for starters. Maybe start checking the grounds????

Sorry, 98 FLHTC, and this bike had been running like a top. Mods: S&S carb, hi-flow air cleaner, EV-13 cam, and pipes.
Loose battery cable is my first guess...Can you wiggle them on the posts?
They are tight on the posts, one of the first things I checked. With all the lights off in the garage when I turn on the bike the speedometer just barely lights up then dims, I have no other lights anywhere.
I'm going back and check all my grounds and fuses. I'm stumped

Check all the usual connections but also check that the battery has not internally shorted as this will give you all kinds of confusing indications.

Test with any 12V battery .
My battery is reading over 13 volts on my voltmeter. I'm also getting 13 volts down to the hot side of the main circuit breaker. With continuity on the meter it is beeping between the terminals of the circuit breaker.
Everything is completely dead but I have voltage. I'll go to the dealership and get a new main circuit breaker tomorrow, to see if for some strange reason I fried it.
I have had this twice on customers bike and each time it was the battery, showed good volts on a meter but crapped itself as soon as a load was applied....jump it or try another battery first.
