98 superglide and I was changing fluid and the manual says 26 ounces and I am short on the refill up to the plates as the manual says .What is going on there is that measurement dry? Thanks

 

I just pour a quart in and all is good. Mine's an evo softail though, don't know if there is a difference between the softy and the dyna.

 

Not sure if it will hurt ,How low are you ? john A qt has 32 oz & he's has less then 26 oz

 

I was changing te primary fluid and te manual says fill it to the bottom of clutch cover inwhich is 26 oz but mine took much less and she was leve too. I am original owner and don't remember what happen last year getting older thanks for help

 

I go by whatever quantity it takes to reach the level specified in the service manual.

 

Same here Drain over nite....Dump a quart in and good to go. 15 min tops no over thinking allowed!! LOL
