Hi, does anyoneknow how much fluid goes into the primary for a 2005 XL1200C ?
I have a buddy who said fill it up just below the inspection plate but I want to be sure how much needs to go in. I know I know pick up a service manual, but I plan on doing that when I get my next check.. Any help would be greatly appreciated..
I have a 92 and there is an overfill hole that you remove the screw and when it starts to run over it is full. I know they changed that since but I know your factory service manual tells you.

Yes, exactly one quart. This is one fluid change that is about easy to get right. My older Ironhead required 24 or 26 ounces or something goofy in the primary. Doable, but you had to fiddle with it trying to get it just right, then what do you do with the remaining lubricant?
